Our mission:

5 distinctives drive this mission:
God redeems.
Jesus is the only Son of God, who became a man to live in perfect obedience to God's Law, suffer for the consequences of our sin, and rise from death to ensure our forgiveness and adoption into the family of God. His work is our only hope for salvation.
This is the Gospel (or good news) and it is central to the work of Faith + Mental Illness.

God speaks.
He has spoken to us through the created order, His Son, and in human words through the Scriptures. The Bible is the Word of God recorded and preserved for us to know and worship Him by revealing His character, works, power, and purposes.

God creates a new community.
He welcomes us into His family, the Church. The church is not a building, but instead a community of persons who trust in Jesus, have been forgiven, and live to proclaim the Gospel through word and action.
Jesus desires His people to be known for their love. Love is central to the church's existence. It was established because of the love of God, exists to love one another and our neighbors.

God redeems our experiences.
Like everyone, God's people live in a broken world. Mental illness is a very real effect of sin, which affects not only our world and relationships, but also our mind and bodies. Each of us struggle and suffer through difficult seasons of life.
But our "lived experiences" aren't wasted by God, who transforms them into opportunities to declare His praise and share His love to our broken world.

God equips and sends.
Using those lived experiences, God positions us in homes, neighborhoods, and workplaces to do the most good.
Those at Faith and Mental Illness have clinically trained and work in metal health settings. Everyday they navigate the world of psychology, psychotropic medicines and severe diagnosis.
