Caregivers
It is estimated that 8.4 million Americans provide care to an adult with an emotional or mental issue. These persons are typically family members with an emotional connection to the person struggling. They are often overlooked but especially vulnerable because they face complex, high burden situations. On average, they provide about 32 hours of unpaid care on a weekly basis while often managing a full-time job, household responsibilities, and caring for children.
